This is Europe’s longest volcanic lava tube, stretching over 17 kilometres and ranking among the longest in the world. Not to be biased, but this is genuinely one of our favourite things to do in Tenerife North. Canyoneering probably isn’t the first activity that comes to mind when you think of Tenerife. Still, the terrain here is incredibly surprising and dramatically sculpted, almost reminiscent of landscapes you’d expect to find in Jordan.

3. Organic Vineyard with Tasting and Tapas, Arafo
This is one of our favourite cultural experiences in Tenerife North, and a brilliant way to slow down and experience the island differently. You don’t often get the chance to say you’ve tasted wine grown on volcanic soil, and it adds a whole new layer to understanding Tenerife’s landscape and traditions.
During the experience, you’ll learn about local winemaking before tasting four different wines, thoughtfully paired with Canarian cheeses and assorted croquettes. Simple, relaxed, and deeply rooted in the island’s culture.
4. Anaga Hiking Tour & Enchanted Forest, Anaga
In the north of Tenerife, you’ll find two of the island’s oldest and most dramatic landscapes: the Teno Massif and the Anaga Massif. For us, Anaga is the real standout, especially if you love getting outdoors, slowing down, and experiencing a place in a more meaningful way. This is Tenerife at its wildest, where misty forests meet sharp ridgelines and everyday life still feels deeply connected to nature.

5. Buggy Teide Sunset National Park, Puerto de la Cruz
When sharing the best things to do in the north of Tenerife, watching the sunset from Mount Teide is a must, but doing it by buggy from Puerto de la Cruz makes the experience even more unforgettable.
